THE FANDOM HIGHTIMES: FOURTEENTH ISSUE!

There's a certain film that I've seen that has this to say about love: "Love is a many splendoured thing. Love lifts us up where we belong. All we need is love!" And I know that after my candy-throwing antics on Valentine's Day, I'm probably the last person who can be trusted to talk about love. But a number of recent events have gotten me thinking about how important love can be, whether it's an actual relationship, or even just the friendship and devotion that I saw with everyone coming together to support Angel while he was sick.
Of course, I know that not all love is grand and wonderful, especially when it's unrequited. In fact, unrequited love is the kind that I've seen most often lately, particularly in the case of a certain bespectacled teacher and her favorite student. "Oh sure," you ask, "how could they possibly be in love?" But if you think about it, all the signs are there, right down to the uncomfortable tension that arises whenever they're physically close. And though it seems natural, we shouldn't question what's going on. Sometimes, these things happen when you'd least expect it.
I guess what I'm trying to say is that if there's ever a time for love to bloom, it's right now. Spring is almost upon us, and it's only a matter of time before the birds and the bees start doing their thing. Maybe it will be beneficial if some of those here at school follow their lead, and give love a chance.
PHOEBE SPEAKS:
Time after time I'm amazed at the ability and the willingness of the people in this school and in this town to pull together during times of crisis. No matter who you are or what you think about certain things, we always manage to put those differences aside when it's really important to do so. We can be fighting like the Scottish and the British at ten a.m., but if there's a crisis, by noon, we're on the same team.
The latest evidence was last week when Angel, a friend and classmate of ours, was attacked poisoned hurt and looking like he really wasn't going to make it.
Enemies banded to work together towards a solution and people that didn't even know Angel wanted to know how they could help. A blood drive was held and several people donated their blood to try and help their classmate. The entire school and town worked as a team to save one of our own. The students that were in England on the Spring Break trip also chipped in to find solutions and send their findings back home to the teams here in Fandom to help to heal Angel.
Good and evil, trust and distrust was put aside -- for the most part -- while everyone focused on the bigger picture of making a fellow student well again.
It is in times like this that I'm reminded why I choose to make Fandom home. It's also times like this that show this is OUR place and we're in all of this craziness together.

ON THE TOWN: CARITAS
by Veronica Mars
Caritas is the local karaoke bar in Fandom. It's owned and operated by Krevlorneswath of the Deathwok Clan, a.k.a. Lorne.
It's a popular place for students and townfolk alike.
According to Lorne, the services Caritas provides include, "Crooning, canoodling, carousing, consumption of beverages both alcoholic and non, in a guaranteed violence-free environment. Karaoke with Fandom's own Zombie Band on backup, empathic and prophetic readings at no extra charge, though the management takes no responsibility for the contents thereof. I don't make the news, babes, I just report it."
The club is open Monday-Saturday from 8pm until "my ears can't take another rendition of Respect by someone who has less soul than even certain hair-gel loving garlic-avoiders tend to claim," Lorne said.
It's also available for private parties for a reasonable fee.
Why should you go to Caritas? "Plenty of places to drink in this town, but only one where they won't throw you out if you stumble up onto the stage afterwards and start slurring your way through 'To All the Gargoyles I've Loved Before.' Plus Tino makes the best SeaBreeze on the eastern seaboard."
STUDENT COUNCIL NEWS
Because of Spring Break, there is no Student Council news. See you all next week!

"So... my notes say...Veronica? What's this about a wedding in Vegas...did I miss something?" "Shut up." "Okay..."
Let's kick things off with some good news, Belthazor and Phoebe are conspicuously back together... as opposed to not being obviously back together? "Does your boyfriend know about your fiance?" "Does yours?" "Shut up." "What?"
Cally and Anders are still adorable. However, we hear there may be some new contenders about to enter the cutest couple at Fandom High race. Rumors have been floating about Peter and a certain green-haired library aide getting cozy. Oh! And Boone and Allie... they are so very cute together. You should have seen how adorable they were in class. There was also some talk of Parker kissing Jarod. [Go Parker! I cheer in your general direction! --Chloe]
There were a lot of parties during the break... We kicked things off with a surprise joint birthday party for Logan and Jake. That... ended not so happily and the biggest news over break was definitely the school and town pulling together to come up with a cure to save Angel. Then there was a surprise birthday party for Nadia and a surprise Welcome Back party for Angel. Finally, Rory surprised Bridge with a belated birthday cake at the animal balancing contest.
In other news, Grissom and Sidle are going to have a... what?! This can't be right, can it? "Well, they did get engaged recently, Pheebs." "But..." "Teachers have sex, too." "TMI, V."
"Hey, Pheebs, it says your sister and Sawyer are back together." "... No." "But it says right here, see?" "Vegas?" "Teachers having sex?" "Let's move on to the Boykissy." "Yay Boykissy!"
Thanks to all who voted in the Boykissy poll. We have the results right here and we're about to open the envelope.
And it's a tie! The boykisses that Fandom High wants to see the most are Angel and Logan or Angel and Bel. "What?" "Um... this can't be right." "Let me see that.... Oh my God." "Uh huh." "So, Fandom High wants Angel to make out.... with our boyfriends?" "Apparently." "And where are we supposed to be during this?" "I would guess watching since it's for our column." "Cole is so going to kick my ass when I get back to the room." "I'm so glad I don't live with Logan."
Anyway, um, Friday after classes in the dorm lobby, if the... winners... show up, there may be boykissing. [Or violence. Lots and lots of violence. --Chloe] If they agree to go through with it, they will each win a $50 gift certificate to Cafe Fina. "I guess we need three of them?" "This hurts my brain in ways you can't even imagine."
That's all for us this week. Hope to see you all on Friday! And yes, the mountie is still hot.

And flailed. A lot.

And started giggling hysterically.
At least the people didn't want to see Bel and Logan kiss. . . .

She was so very glad she had warned Logan (http://marsheadtilt.livejournal.com/43767.html) the night before.
Chloe's comment about violence made her giggle.

The graduation reminder, of course. Not the other one that he's already forgotten.
And as for the other thing? Sooooo not gonna be
caughtwatching in the lobby on Friday. Unless. Hmm. Yes, he might have to be there just for the snickering potential. Yes.no subject
1. Note to self. Convince Victor to use his chamelon abillities and his camcorder to make a secret video of Bel, Angel, and Logan. Sell on internet. Make a fortune.
2. Note to self. Suggest girlkissy poll in newspaper in order to promote gender equality and equal opportunity objectification.

Oh, someone's gonna *pay*.
Fuming, Parker threw away the paper before she even got to the boykissy announcement. Which at least would've made her laugh.
