THE FANDOM HIGHTIMES: VOLUME 3, 12th EDITION!

PETER SPEAKS:

Sometimes in life you come across odds that seem completely impossible. Fandom knows that well, of course, to the point where we're pretty much used to it. At this point we know full well that we don't always get past those impossible odds, no matter how much it seems that way sometimes.

Thanks to the days of song and note-taking squirrels, it's easy to see Fandom as some sort of place off to the side of the real world. After all, we're in high school. It's supposed to be preparation for the real world, not the real world itself. So when we see all of this absurdist fantasy stuff going around, it can even temper the tragedy. People leave us and life eventually moves on because the squirrel's going to write down everything you're doing whether you've moved on or not. And that's weird.

Every now and then, you need a trip back to the real world that you know to remind you of how it's exactly the same as life here. Okay, there are varying degrees. I live in a world with superheroes, so my life is closer to this anyway. But the universe can still be a jerk in less fantastical worlds, and that can still bring you to the conclusion that... well, this is life. We're not waiting for it to begin. We're not making our way towards it. We're living it. And some days are better than others with that.

Here's to those better days.

IN RELATED NEWS

We've blown through Spring Break now and are well on our way towards graduation. And how does Fandom welcome us as we start on our way to that point?

Songs. Shoes with feelings. And at press time, giraffes? Yes, giraffes.

Even after that opening editorial, I can still get lost in the absurdist fantasy elements of this place. Thank you for that, Fandom.

SENIORITIS: AN INVESTIGATIVE EVENT IN SEVEN PARTS
PART IV: YOUR OPINIONS ON SENIORITIS
by Peter Parker

This week in our investigative event on Senioritis, the Fandom Hightimes is bringing your words to the world about how Senioritis is affecting your life.

Well, we would, but we couldn't be bothered. Maybe next week.

Next week: Maybe what was supposed to happen this week!

GIRL SCOUT COOKIES: WHY DOESN'T FANDOM HAVE THEM?

Girl Scout Cookies are an American institution. Which begs the question of why don't we get them in Fandom?

The obvious answer is, of course, the only little girl in town is a tiny baby. But that's no excuse. We could easily fake the identities of several small girls and a Girl Scout Troup in order to open a pipeline to sugary excellence. If necessary, we could even make Jamie Madrox wear a wig and a skirt and multiply a dozen times. That would have the extra benefit of being really funny.

Or we could just ignore the scouts and embark on cookie-themed fundraisers of our own. We could raise funds for charity or trampolines for our basketball courts for any aspiring mascots in our community. The options are virtually unlimited. And also, cookies. I think it's something we need to consider.

Until then, the Fandom Hightimes would like to remind everyone that the Girl Scouts now sell their cookies online. But it's just not the same...
