The Fandom High Times, Volume 5, Fourteenth Edition

Editor's Letter:
Dear Reader,

I hope most of the seniors have been figuring out what to do after high school is over, because time is running out. As much as I hate to say it, our senior year is coming to a close. It's been one to remember, but I'm sure we'll go on to make some great memories over the summer and beyond.

Upcoming Events
by: Joan Girardi

We're getting to that time of year where it seems like there is always something going on. I'm sure you all know that tonight is the Junior/Senior prom. And if you were here for prom last year, you may know that it's possible Fandom will throw us a curveball tomorrow. But there are a lot of other things going on that you should plan for in advance.

Final exams start in just over a week - April 18th through April 24th. Make sure you study in advance, just in case Fandom decides to play any tricks.

Of course, we can't forget graduation, which is a bittersweet event for many of us. That's coming up the weekend of May 1st and 2nd.

Hard to believe this year is so rapidly coming to a close. Let's all make the most of it.

Spooky Things
by: Ellie Bartowski

There are many reasons why we watch television. Maybe we just need an escape for a little while from real life. Maybe some of us enjoy good writing or special effects. Or perhaps it's because some of us are shallow and enjoy looking at pretty people? If you watch for just one of these reasons, Spooky Things might be the show for you.

The show is about the journey of two brothers who hunt evil demons and the like. Though there are times when the writing hasn't been up to par, it is generally well written and definitely well acted. The special effects are usually decent. Oh, and there are pretty people. The brothers are aesthetically pleasing, as are most of the female guest stars. Just don't get used to them.

In a place like Fandom where weird things tend to occur, maybe this is not so much escapism. Still, it provides enough drama and sometimes brings the funny. If you want to be entertained, check out Spooky Things. Try not to watch during dinner if you check out any of the later seasons. Watching in the dark might be a bad idea, too.

Overall, this show gets a B+ from me.

Business Spotlight

Café Fina
by: Hoshi Sato

If you haven't eaten at Café Fina, you don't know what you're missing! Fina delivers an incredible dining experience with their scrumptious desserts and distinctive dining staff. And by "distinctive," I mean that the dining staff are walking, talking utensils.

"I'm sure it can be a little weird when people first come in and are greeted by a life-size pepper shaker," explained Lion-o, one of the student employees. "But these guys really know their food! There are times that I'm not sure that something will taste good, but they make it work. The pepper shaker really is a cool guy, too."

One of Fina's regular customers agreed. "I love going to the Fina! It's so pretty. And it's convenient and well-priced. And the staff are totally awesome! All of them, people and utensils! Even the cheese grater! And they really take care of you when you visit and they're totally friendly!" said Momoko Akatsutsumi.

But what about those famous desserts? "Speaking of cake, they have the most awesome desserts! And they can make just about anything. I've had mousse and cakes and tarts and pies and cookies and, well, a whole bunch of other desserts and all of them were totally delicious," added Momoko.

So the next time you are craving something sweet, why not check out Café Fina? You're in for a real treat.
